Michelle shifts, kicks her feet up onto the coffee table. "Hm. I'm more into The Winter Soldier type. Dark, mysterious, dangerous. That's cool"
Peter is about to reply through a steadily deepening frown - The Winter Soldier??? Cooler than Spider-Man??? Really??? - but when Michelle had shifted on the couch, she had somehow ended up with her shoulder bumping his, their arms almost pressed together, and for some reason the warmth of her body so close is really distracting. So he doesn't say anything.
(Peter is a dumb teenage boy who just wants Michelle to think he's cool).

Since the moment she started college, she’s had this insane tug towards Stark Industries. It should have repulsed her: government defense contractor with blood all over its shiny logo. And yet. She couldn’t stop thinking about it. She needed to work at Stark, needed to be there, needed something from the last baby of Iron-Man. Something had been hidden there for her. It was why she switched her major, the reason she had spent every waking minute focused on wing foil design, torsion, metal strengths, speaking the part and acting the part until she got the coveted Stark internship in her senior year. When she got the email she’d read it out loud: Stark internship, feeling the odd urge to snicker. There he goes again for his internship.
It’s been him all along.

It’s 3am when she finally arrives back to her apartment.
She opens the door, careful not to slam it shut for Ned’s sake but throws her keys on to the counter nosily. Her shoes are kicked off on her route towards the kitchen. She fills a glass up once with water, downs it then repeats, spinning to face the lounge as she nurses the second, only to be met with the sight of Peter Parker sat on her couch, blinking owlishly in the dark.
