Contrary to popular belief, Ruggie Bucchi had feelings.
Half of Savanaclaw wouldn't have believed it if he told them, but it was true. Ruggie Bucchi had feelings.
And feelings, like many things, could get hurt.
He'd never admit it, of course. That never did him any good back in the slums, where staying alive had been the main priority, and it hadn't done him any good here, not when the closest thing he'd ever had to a friend was also his boss.
He was an employee, okay? He knew what his job entailed, he was getting paid well—even without the occasional thefts—and none of that arrangement concerned his feelings.
It was on him, really, for getting attached.
