An ACOFAS and ACOSF rewrite focusing on an actual healing journey for Nesta. Hopefully, giving her the orange book she deserves!
This is my attempt to rewrite Nesta's mental health struggles in a hopefully nuanced manner.There will be a pretty extensive dive into Nesta's journey—it will be rocky, with ups and downs, and intermittently heavy. There will be focus on Nesta's arc as an individual, the healing provided by the Valkyries, Nezriel's and Neris's friendships, and the empowerment of Illyrian women.
This is a Nessian HEA, but it will be a slow burn because I think we never got enough of pining and yearning and support from Cass in SF; setting out to fix that.
Cass is going to break the confines of the 'clowny general' archetype he's in— he's going to have purpose and an arc of healing and understanding too.Crumbs of Azris will be strewn about; but it is a Nessian fic, first and foremost. xx
Always remember: if you're a Nesta, you don't have to climb the mountain unless it's your choice and it brings you happiness. In this house; consent is absolute, and coercion is out of the question. xx

Summary
Cassian walks in on Nesta using her powers in the private library. She panics, seducing him into quid-pro-quo arrangement to keep her secret: she sleeps with him once a week, and he doesn’t tell the Inner Circle that she can still wield her mysterious silver flames. In a tribute to Nesta’s dwindling humanity, it is not a bargain—“I’m sick of this Fey bullshit”—it’s an arrangement, built on something more fleeting than magic: trust. It doesn’t take long for them to realize that this will work out to be much, much more than they bargained—or, rather—dealed for. Meanwhile, mysterious beasts have begun appearing all over Prythian. Fake-dating (fake-mating?), Valkyrie adventures, monster hunting, and enough love to melt the Ice Queen’s heart, ensues. ACOSF re-write (ish).
“I resign the match,” was all she could manage, but it didn’t matter, Azriel was already seeing himself out of the library.
“Rematch soon?,” he said as a parting greeting to her, and to Cassian he said, “You’re a fucking idiot, you know that, right?”
Whatever satisfaction briefly visited Nesta was squashed by the timbre of her beloved’s voice.
“Yeah,” Cassian said, and the word resonated with her bones, “Pretty clear on that.”

Summary
The Inner Circle had known that the choice they were offering Nesta was death or the House of Wind. Obviously, Nesta would not spite them by selecting to go to a place where she would be hunted and burned alive. The Night Court, however, had vastly overestimated her will to live.
Nesta did choose the human lands. She was tried of this Fae existence, of the Night Court, of being a constant, unlovable failure.
But humans have always looked after their own.
Or, where Nesta picks the human lands, expecting to be killed, but instead, they take her in and look after her. Nesta then heals through their sense of community and her own humanity, rather than violence and swords, while the Night Court scrambles after sending away their favourite weapon.

or: A court of silver flames- but if Nesta fell down a mountain while on her hike with Cassian and didn't get too see the pretty sparkly lake, instead she flown back to the house of wind for healing and doesnt go back to the mountain, but this isnt the same Nesta who first came to the house, she's not better either. some might argue she's, far, far worse.
(this fic has strong themes of care giver abuse, an adult with mental health issues or an inability to care for themselves is abused and taken advantage of by the people who are supposed to be responsible for them, i could not find a tag for that but i want you to know that's a part of this fic.
