As Jayce’s soul oozes out into the open, climbing in rivulets up Viktor’s sinewy fingers and making its way to the very centre of him, Viktor begins to notice something unsettling. Yes, Jayce’s mind is melding with his own, as many others did, but he hadn’t really paid attention to how the soul felt. Jayce’s soul is beautiful and vibrant, and there’s a fracture in there that Viktor planned to smooth out—most of all, it’s lush with life. It’s Jayce. It’s his essence. And it crescendoed at first.
Now it’s starting to dim.
Or: How Viktor fulfils his destiny as the Mage and saves the Jayces of the multiverse (with a bit of sex in between).
