Summary
Penelope sat on the bench and let Colin prop her little shoes on the tiny middle bench he’d meant for their children to sit upon. He was a little too touchy with her ankles, but his eyes did not stray like his flapping urge to pet and smooth her until every tear was replaced with her next reaction. Once she had openly cried, she often spent the next hour shaking her head and breathlessly saying she was fine, as if everyone else had swollen eyes and couldn’t hear the frog in her voice.
“Blow your nose, Miss,” Rae told her.
Penelope, who had spent so many nights out in the garden with this man who presumed a great deal and would marry her with the threat of execution literally the cost of doing so, looked at Colin and balked at admitting her nose ran when she wept.
“You will feel better,” he said. “I will not look or listen. I will walk over there and make a spectacle of myself chiding a gardener I have invented who I believe is lazy and will waste my money.”

Summary
“I doubt you know what you are getting into,” Eloise said. “Or what will be asked of you to support a wife with a family like the Featheringtons.”
Colin seemed to find her funny. “You do know I am a grown man? I am older than you. I have been to many places around the world, alone. I have money and a house. I am buying horses. I employ servants. These things don’t make me better than someone who does not, but you insist on treating me like I am Gregory’s age or even too young to calculate the price of sweets without you counting my coins.”
She did not feel superior in knowledge to anyone about marriage. She was not allowed to have a man without dooming them both to what she saw as an alarming risk of regrets that would be generations of unhappy people who interpreted a love match as a concession to nagging.
“I have trouble . . . not understanding you. I think we understand each other about the world and we are not that dissimilar. We both love Penelope. Your reaction is to bring her closer when I have had to give her up,” she said.

Summary
Inspired by this vintage Bridgerton series post about a very anxious Colin who would not waste a moment telling everyone he was engaged to Penelope (canon prediction at the time): https://www.tumblr.com/yellowdressesandyearning/823887973542199296?source=share
Incorrect Polin Quotes:
Pen: Is it true you have been telling the entire ton we are to be married? We haven't properly announced it yet.
Colin: Yes, Pen. I have no self-control and I have told the entire population of London that we are going to be married.
Pen: Well, there is no need to be sarcastic.
Colin: No, seriously, I have no control, and I have told the whole of London that we are going to be married.

Summary
Agatha Danbury looked at her computer screen. “I’ve had requests for gallies copies of your book,” she said. “From the people who know you around the office, which is to be expected, and from some rather posh people who could be excused for not knowing you yet. But they do?”
Penelope felt like a different person from the one who wore white silk and charmed actors. She shrugged.
“Colin and his family have been talking it up,” she said. “I’m sorry. I know there’s an official way to do this. I can tell him to stop.”
“You were the source,” her boss said. “You went to a party, looking very much like you don’t need the money for showing up regularly here.”

Summary
“Francesca is very dutiful,” Colin said softly. “I am not sure we could have stopped her from wanting to be certain. And if there had been a baby, her health would have been very much a concern. I hate how it came about, but there was a need to know for her sake. I am just sorry it was not good news when some hope would bolster her spirit.”
“A baby would be difficult, but certainly no worse than losing John,” Pen said. “I knew she felt she should be doing more as a wife, but I cannot see any way he could have been happier with her. It feels like that kind of love should insulate from not even having final words. John just went to sleep. He had no idea. We do not always kiss before one of us goes out and the other one stays home!”
She moved her legs restlessly, and Elliot whimpered at the vibration of his mother’s dread. His little shudder definitely meant he would wake soon, and the pale light of dawn was showing around the pulled curtains.

Summary
A slow-burn canon twist starting from the first time Colin notices Debling noticing Penelope, setting off a lot of feelings he realizes were always trying to dig their way out of his denial. Pen is courting with the eye to marry well and keep her career, Colin is in love so big it is only dwarfed by the accompanying trouble, and Debling is not the only rival suitor. Lots of inclusion of Featherington and Bridgerton family members as the spectacle becomes a debacle with the goal of a wedding. WIP, not always that serious, and sometimes smutty/angsty.

Summary
A modern AU in London, where friends Colin and Penelope find themselves almost living together more often then they do apart. Recently updated to only include the canon of one specific AU that started with "Truth in the Throws." Since this one grew a plot unexpectedly, I'll list the stories in chronological order, with the caveat that some chapters do have flashbacks framed within the 'now' of the story.

Summary
Penelope Featherington thinks she has the most boring job in the universe, translating foreign language juridical texts into English. After one especially frustrating day of translating the most pointless ancient Bavarian document, she's venting her spleen on her friend Anthony Bridgerton's voice mail:
"Can you believe women weren't allowed to work, study or vote, but were allowed to own - quote - 'Schuhe, eigene Boote, Fischrogen, mehr Schuhe'?! That's so random!"When Anthony listens to the voice mail, he can't believe how melodic Pen's voice sounds. Since he's a record producer, he decides to make a song out of it. Pen agrees, but only under the condition that she remain anonymous.
It becomes a huge success in the London club scene.Weeks later, Colin Bridgerton happens to hear the song in a club and instantly falls in love with the voice, not realising it belongs to his very good platonic friend Penelope.
Chaos ensues.
