A stray had somehow made its way inside Zandik's laboratory. It was a scrawny kitten with unkempt fur and a fierce attitude despite its small size. He intended to get rid of it at first, but Segment 8 had other ideas.
Reluctantly, Zandik allowed Segment 8 to keep the kitten.
Or, Zandik made the mistake of letting a stray kitten wreak havoc in his laboratory.

“You’re such a liar.” Her ward spits, but it’s a tacit nothing statement. He knows she wants him alive.

“Hey? Shut up! What did you mean earlier when you said you had ‘taken me for your own’?”

Summary
Columbina sees Scaramouche quite often during her trips to Dottore's lab, but they generally have very little to say to each other. Despite Sandrone's warning to stay away from the Doctor, Columbina doesn't stop going; it's only once Scaramouche tells her the same thing that she gives it a second thought.
Years go by, the number of Harbingers grows, and Columbina comes to realize the cost of finding a place for herself.

He was definitely another prosthesis, that much was clear— dark Sumerian skin, a shock of bright blue hair— but those wide, red eyes stared up at Childe from a face that couldn’t have been older than Teucer’s.
“Oh!” His little brother gasped, craning to keep the boy in sight as they tracked the pair into the same aisle they stood in, “I didn’t see you!”
Or, Childe is forced to expand the Toy Salesman Universe to Teucer when they encounter a pair of Doctors on the train back to Snezhnaya. Fortunately, one of them is just his little brother’s age.
