She meets Hayden three months into her freshman year, drunk out of her mind at a frat party. PBE, or something; actually she doesn’t know, didn’t bother to rush for a sorority so she wouldn’t have to pay the fees. Jackie went wherever her roommate was going, borrowed a “going-out-top” that Mai insisted went with her eyes (brown, Jesus Christ, a brown shirt from Victoria’s Secret with lace at the bottom, she didn’t even wear a bra with it). Wasn’t planning on getting drunk - God knew Mai would - but then her physics test gets back, an honest-to-god 18 out of 100, and Jackie decides to get absolutely fucking blasted.
The funny thing is, Jackie doesn't even like hockey.

Elain's life is fine.
She gardens. She cooks. She plays with her nephew. Sure, she doesn't have a lot of corporeal friends, but everyone's friendly! And sure, she lives with her younger sister and associates entirely with her friend group, but that's fine. They're nice, and Feyre has a lovely home. And sure, she's a little uncomfortable when Azriel shows up, after everything, but that's fine. Manageable. She's doing very well, thank you much.
But then she starts to get visions again, and suddenly life isn't so fine after all. Not when she can't stop seeing people die.
Luckily, the visions go away around Lucien Vanserra.
