Something was off with Jason. Bruce couldn’t put his finger on what it was, initially. It took a long time for the inkling to shape into a theory, and then for that theory to become quiet certainty. In hindsight, Bruce knows now how deeply he failed Jason. Before the Joker. Before Felipe Garzonas, even.
Bruce knew what Jason was hiding. He was the world’s greatest detective and Jason’s father. He knew what happened to street kids who got backed into corners or had to resort to unseemly methods of survival in a city like Gotham. Bruce knew how to identify what were blatant symptoms of a trauma survivor. He just didn’t want to face it.

This is Bruce's baby, begging Bruce to please not leave him.
Pain is such a strange concept, because Bruce can viscerally feel his heart fracturing into a million pieces, and all he's doing is dropping Jason off at preschool. One would've thought he was shipping his son out of the country and this was the last time they'd ever be seeing each other.
Or, Bruce comforting Jason, then and now.

OR,Jason and Roy definitely, absolutely don't break up after Rent-A-Bat. Jason is leading the Teen Titans. Roy is doing his own thing. This is fine, until the universe decides it has other plans for them. Because when has it ever been easy, simple and clean?
