Historically, Sherlock's attempts to instruct Joan in any form of physical combat within the confines of their home had resulted in... less than desirable outcomes. In the interests of her education, they settled on a more structured form of instruction, with defined rules of engagement and a motivating wager.
Sherlock called their new curriculum "the art of ambush, evasion, and escape." Joan called it "sexcapades," no matter how often he asked her not to.

Summary
Four years after his escape, Hannibal Lecter is once again imprisoned at the hospital in Baltimore. He's the same as ever, except that he refuses to discuss Will Graham, who there hasn't been a trace of in years. When the Buffalo Bill killings start, FBI trainee Clarice Starling is sent to interview him, and Hannibal has his interest piqued. But it’s not for reasons anyone would suspect, and as usual, his motivations are all about Will. A remix of Silence of the Lambs, where Clarice finds herself occupied not only with catching Buffalo Bill, but with unraveling the mystery of what exactly happened to Will Graham. And Hannibal knows more than he’s letting on about both.

There is nothing to be gained from denying this match and everything to lose. Count Lecter’s life is no longer his own, but fodder for a treaty between his homeland of Lyrae and a distant land he only knows of through rumors—Myria. His directions are clear: Marry the King of Myria, make him happy in whatever means that may take, and pray to God for his mortal soul. Summary
As requested by LadyJadeRains! What would have happened if Will's encephalitis was a little worse, and the psychic driving had been a little more effective, such that Will genuinely believed that he had committed the Copycat Killings and also murdered Abigail Hobbs?
Will Graham is impulsive, depressed, and anxious. He has developed acquired synesthesia which amplifies his empathy disorder to an unbearable degree. He believes, wholly, that he is responsible for the deaths of at least 6 people.
Matthew Brown attempts to woo him by offering stability, support, and the illusion of control.
Hannibal Lecter attempts to woo him by offering challenge, chaos, and the illusion of safety.
In a way, Will loves them both. After all, we accept the love we think we deserve.
But as Will continues to recover, the question is this: how long until the illusion shatters, and Will realizes that what he actually deserves is better?
