Angelic and generous, they extended their affection to him as easily as they did to one another. Their love was abundant; there seemed to be no jealousy between them, no hierarchy. Everyone clotted together like blood over a wound, healing.
By July, Yeonjun’s health began to decline.
Yeonjun rents a room for the summer. He pays more than he expected.

Zuko knows all this because not only is Sokka's house next door to his, his bedroom is too. Their windows are right across from each other, allowing both of them to look in on the other and occasionally awkwardly wave. So, Zuko sees Sokka coming home late, smoking unhappily, hanging out with his friends. And Sokka, presumably, sees Zuko doing push-ups and crunches on his bedroom floor and turning out the lights at 10:00 every night.
But they’ve never really talked. They probably wouldn’t get along, anyway. Not much in common.

“sorry?” he asks, a little out of breath, even though he heard him almost perfectly the first time.
“you’re not eating,” taehyun repeats, taps his foot once, twice.
yeonjun’s hand shakes as he reaches for an apple in the bowl next to him. “of course i am.” he bites into it as if to prove his point. it crumbles in his mouth like ash.
taehyun takes a step towards him, wary. guilt sores up in him like a lion hunting its prey. “when was the last time,” another step. “you ate an actual meal?”
and; truthfully, yeonjun doesn’t remember.
