    This meta examines how the MCU constructed Wanda's narrative to ensure she could not win: defined in opposition to Tony Stark from the moment she first appeared, stripped of witnesses, abandoned by twelve characters who could have helped, given a deleted storyboard scene in which she said "I'm sick of everyone acting like Tony Stark is the only person we lost" — cut, apparently, to protect his legacy. It traces the Madwoman trope from Ophelia to Bertha Mason to Wanda, examines the gendered double standard in how her grief was pathologised while Tony's was humanised, and asks why the franchise that created her could not tell her story honestly.
