Once. Just once. Clark had a dream about a baby. There’d been dreams before, about robots, loose technology, a disembodied AI roaming the building searching for him. But last week, Clark walked through the halls of LuthorCorp, and in the basement, there was a baby lying on the floor, silent, still, with dark hair and skin so pale he looked blue.

His dad starts to turn away from him, only to spin around again, and slam his fist into the wall. It cracks the plaster of the wall in Garrett's room at school. His dad stares at him, and shakes his hand in the air slowly, as if to shake off the pain. “You want to try that again?” his dad asks.
