  1. Summary

Millions upon millions of lives short and lives shorter, of deaths quick and deaths tortuously slow. Millions of torments and agonies, of blissful dreams-come-true, of both and of neither and of everything else possible under the sky. Probably more; who could ever keep track of it all, even if they tried?

Gods, maybe. But we aren't gods.

We are people who have had enough. We are people who can never forget the past, but have found the will to change their future.

We aren't gods. We are ourselves; whoever that happens to be.

    Summary

For Jean, other people's memories are like flipping through TV channels late at night in the living room. Peter Parker becomes the exception.

Or: a veery small fix-it of the events of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, because her lack of empathy in the movie really bothers me and the people hurt by Jean Grey don't deserve to simply be forgotten.

BIG SHOUTOUT TO SOMEWHATNERDY ON AO3 FOR THE IDEA!!

Frank Castle stood near the back of the line, hands shoved deep into the pockets of a beige jacket that smelled faintly of laundry detergent. He was thirty-four, relaxed in a way he hadn't been since he left the army, his mind quiet, for once. A few yards away, near the bench, Lisa was trying to stop Frankie from feeding his pretzel crust to a pigeon, while Maria laughed, pulling them apart and gently shooing the bird. It was an October afternoon of 2015, and life was okay.

somewhatnerdy made the point that there was a time in 2015 where, while peter was spiderman, he was still, like, okay, and frank wasn't yet the punisher. the idea of them meeting as Regular People before the horrors kicked in... omg. i wrote this all in one sitting and did not edit, sorry if it sounds clunky or odd.

    Summary

    SPOILERS FOR BRAND NEW DAY!!!!!!

It started like this. He’d been in the city for the day when everything went black. As if his entire conscious existence had been snapped out like a light. And then he was back, gasping for air without knowing why he lost it in the first place. It was almost as if he had blinked; a temporary brain freeze had it not been for the screams outside and the emergency sirens wailing in the distance. That and his crappy cup of coffee had gone cold.

It continued with movie night; his comment about the kid's love for Star Wars slipping out almost without him noticing; and to be dreadfully honest, he may not have even caught it himself had it not been for Morgan’s innocent, albeit confused question of “who’s Pete” that followed.

It finds him barreling into the too small ICU unit a few hours later after a hasty explanation to his wife and an adrenaline-fueled apology to his daughter; his brain looping between three distinct facts:

    Critical condition.

    Spider-Man.

    Peter.

    Oh god.

(Or Frank Castle really just wants to know why Tony Stark is in Spider-Man's hospital room looking like he's seen a ghost.)

    Summary

Tony Stark and Frank Castle have one thing in common: an aggravating teenage mentee who always seems to get mixed up in the worst kind of trouble.

Frank Castle had a strictly work-only partnership with Spider-Man. Only recently has he discovered Spider-Man’s true identity and found himself starting to care about another person after the traumatic death of his family. When Frank gets news of Spider-Man’s fight with Vulture gone wrong, he rushes to the scene, only to discover that it may be too late.

Tony Stark survived the fight against Thanos but has no memory of Peter Parker. When Peter hits his Stark emergency beacon years later, a retired Iron Man decides to answer the call, against his better judgment. Who is this random kid? And why did Tony not hesitate to risk his life to save him?
