Summary
Dick Grayson hugs the way most people breathe: easy and natural, like it's a necessary part of living.
Tim's wrapped up in one now, his brother's arms all the way around his shoulders, tugging him in close.
He's never told Dick that the first hug he can remember is that day at the circus, from a stranger who would in time be family. He's never told Dick that the next hug he remembers after that is nine years later, caught up in those same strong arms. He thinks he'd rather die than admit it.
"You're not hurt?" Dick is saying. "Nothing cruel and unusual, right?"
"She only let me have one cup of coffee a day," says Tim, very dry, and Dick makes a strange sort of a sound, almost a laugh, and tightens his hold so much it sweeps Tim right off his feet.

From there it spirals as all the Robins make the lies grow and twist it in their own ways, until the truth comes out.

Tim never responded to the group chat. So when Tim gets maybe his best idea ever (which is pretty serious cause he has a ton of amazing ideas). He sends “love u guys” in the family group chat before proceeding to turn off his location and set all notifications on silent.

Pain exploded across the back of his head. The room lurched sideways and Tim stumbled, catching himself on one knee as white-hot sparks burst across his vision. A groan escaped him as he reached shakily toward the back of his head. His glove came away slick with blood."Did you seriously just hit me with your baseball bat?" His voice was dangerously calm.

Or. Tim Drake has a flawless plan: disappear for a little while and see how long it takes his family to notice. Unfortunately, “flawless” is a generous word when what starts as a harmless attempt to prove he’s missed quickly turns into Tim getting kidnapped twice, knocked unconscious three times, losing a bet to his best friend, being sold to Scarecrow for $100 by the world’s dumbest criminal, accidentally traumatizing his entire family, and somehow turning a terrible idea into a successful family intervention, all in under 42 hours.

“What? All I’m saying is that all your parenting classes are paying off, you don’t even need to threaten to bench him and he already hates you.”
“Jason.”
“Relax,” Jason said. “He doesn’t hate you. It’s just weird, you know.”
Bruce stared at him.
Jason rolled his eyes, muttering something under his breath. He readjusted Tim a little, gently brushing away some dark hair from Tim’s face.
“There wasn’t exactly a shit tonne of baby assassins back in the League. In fact, there was only Damian. He’s not used to this kind of thing.”
“That’s no excuse for not sleeping through the night.”
“You’re acting like Damian’s the one who’s been magically puffed into a little kid. Well, littler than he is already. This is weird as hell, Bruce, all he knows about child rearing is how he himself was raised.”
