Summary
It happens before she can fully process it. One moment she's following Trinity into the apartment building and the next, she's stumbling forward, her foot caught on the abnormally high doorway threshold.
She never hits the floor.
Instead, she falls face-first into Trinity, strong arms grasping her by the shoulders to keep her from kissing concrete. When the realization sets in, she jolts away and almost sends herself tumbling backwards onto her ass. There's no doubt in her mind she looks like a deer in the headlights, gangly and awkward, so grossly out of her element.
God this is so embarrassing.

Summary
Five minutes later, Victoria found her in the staff lounge, white-knuckling the counter. She stepped in, softly closed the door, and leaned back against it.
After another minute's silence, she tried, "If you didn't really want to meet my parents, you could've just said."
The way Trinity's head snapped over to glare at her, eyes wet and red, made it clear joking was not appreciated in this moment.
