Summary
Laurent is a ragdoll, pulled down into the dark at improbable speed. The lift it makes in his stomach is odd, like the giddy drop on a rollercoaster. A moment of elation, perhaps, before he dies.
He breaks the surface.
His gasping mouth now pulls in air, his feet firmly on the rock bottom of the spring and legs holding him up unshakably. Water streams from his head, down his body, as though a bucket had been dumped over his head. He reaches up to push his sopping hair from his eyes.
“Naiad,” a voice says.
Laurent stills. Psychological collapse should be allowed, by the universe, to be a solitary affair, especially when it happens in a state of complete undress. It’s unfair on a cosmic level that Laurent should be happened upon by a stranger in his current condition.
---
On holiday with his brother in Ios, Laurent bathes in a hot spring. Unfortunately, he drowns. Even more unfortunately, when he surfaces somehow, he finds himself thrust back in time. Dropped into the middle of a mythologised ancient war for the Akielon throne, he is determined to get back to the modern day - even after ending up kidnapped (or perhaps rescued) by the rightful King, Damianos.

‘Thank you, I know exactly how it would have been. You and Auguste would have been slapping each other on the back and watching tournaments, and I would have been trailing around tugging on your sleeve, trying to get a look in edgewise.’

Summary
As soon as he gets his ice cream, he’ll go home. He’ll lean against the railing that encloses his fourth story balcony with a cigarette in-hand and enjoy a single hour of alone time before his roommates come barging through the door with jabs about his gullibleness already stashed in their arsenal. He can picture it now—both the reprieve on the balcony and the carnage that’s sure to follow.
It’s a thought that lasts until he sees a pair of hands place something that is decidedly not a small vanilla cone in front of him. Aki looks up in preparation to scold his roommates for messing with him again, only to be silenced by a voice that doesn’t belong to either of them.
“Enjoy,” the newcomer says with little intonation.
Then, the world goes still.
or, three times Denji and Power try to set up Aki and Angel (+ the one time they don't have to try).

Summary
Love was something between the teeth. Intimacy was to be chewed and swallowed into digestion. To eat with a raw fury. To eat and eat until his stomach hurt, until all of Aki was inside of him. He thought that to be destroyed was what it meant to be revered, to be cherished. That when his mind and body ached with lust, it was really just hunger. That wanting Aki inside of him meant he had to bite down first.

Summary
Angel presses on. "Do you want to die?"
Of course he wants to die.
He wants to die just as much as he wants to live. Just as he is now devil and human, just as Angel is both beautiful and monstrous. Aki swallows the smoke and it kills him a little, just as it makes life a little more liveable in return. That's how it's been for most of his life.
"That's not what this is about," he says simply, unable to explain it.
Alive, Aki has survived by selling away his heart. Alive, Angel's memories have come back along with guilt. They find solace and understanding in the only person who sees them for what they are.
