Summary
When Scott had said that he used to use wine to get to sleep, he hadn't been lying. Far from it, in fact, he'd downplayed his need for it. And with his new trauma from how he'd died, sleep in his resurrection was going to be even more difficult to obtain. Thankfully, one of his neighbors is working on the solution, surely he can wait another day or two.

“You know, a deal would prevent you from being banished at all,” Abolish suggests as casually as he can, eyes tracking Scott as he turns away from the barrier.
An indulgent smile forms on his lips. “Ah ah, but I have no intention of being a lap dog.” Scott is in front of him in three long strides, mouth curled up in amusement. “And besides, we both know such deals are only ever temporary.”
Well fuck.
There’s no other choice, then, isn’t there, there’s only one more gambit he can make. “Not if we make it permanent.”

Summary
This was the fifth body in just as many months that had been found in a similar situation. As much as he wasn’t a betting man, the prediction that the labs would show this victim had also had the majority of their blood systematically drained from some inconspicuous part of their body before their throat was slit was getting uncomfortably predictable.
To the police, this was a serial killer, plain and simple. Well, as plain and simple as having an active serial killer can be in one of America’s most densely populated cities. Abolish however knew better. This wasn’t a serial killer.
Well, he supposed it was, as he exited the building into the crisp evening air. But he very much doubted the NYPD really had vampires on their shortlist of suspects.

"That wouldn't happen," Scott answered without missing a beat, as if the answer was as easy as breathing. "And, in the hypothetical that it did," he brought Nom's hands to his lips, planting a warm, soft kiss on his knuckles with care, as if Nom wasn't something to be feared, but rather treasured, worshiped, "I think we can sort it out together.
"I trust you, Nom."
Or: Scott convinces Nom to let him braid some dandelions into the crown resting on his head. Unbeknownst to both of them, this night will lead to a lot more than simple flowers on a crown.
