  • Courage tells us about her Mama

  Summary

mama found her on a dingy a long time ago. mama said she was the muckiest pup she had ever seen, and courage thinks that's definitely impossible because now courage has been to fereldan, where mama said she came from on a big boat like the one they came here on, and there are so many other mucky dogs here, especially the mabari, so courage knew she could not have been the muckiest pup that mama had ever seen.

though, admittedly, she *had* been swimming in the water outside the gallows shortly before mama found her.

so maybe mama had a point.

  Summary

Something is afoot in Antiva. Following the fall of the Evanuris and the annual Dellamorte Satinalia gala, the Merchant Princes have gone silent. News from Antiva City? Quiet as the grave. Suddenly, Merchant Princes and King Fulgeno II’s bastards alike begin turning up dead across Thedas, silver ribbons affixed to their throats. Per volontà del Creatore, l'Unico Re di Antiva regnerà, poiché questo è il Diritto Divino dei Re. By the will of the Maker, the One King of Antiva will rule, for this is the Divine Right of Kings.

But everyone knows that the Crows rule Antiva– so when Eighth Talon Calliope Arainai turns up dead with a familiar silver ribbon adoring her throat, the message, and the threat, is clear.

This is the Divine Right of Kings.

  Summary

  “It’s a nightmare, Vero.”

Viago’s voice is slow and deliberate - the sort of tone he might use on a cornered animal, and Vero… doesn’t begrudge him that. They imagine they quite resemble one now, sweat-soaked and wild-eyed in his bed after another nightmare.

“A nightmare,” they agree, but their voice is hoarse so maybe they were screaming?

  --

Vero has a nightmare. Viago is there.
