One bad seed could be explained away, but if the whole meadow withered…No, that was indication of the gardener’s incapacity.There was not much that could be done now–maybe the little ones could be saved if they played their cards right, if Maekar learned from his mistakes–but some of the damage might yet be mitigated. Daeron was, after all, not Aerion. If he lacked in strength, mettle, ambition, honour–the list went on, really–at least he did not share in his brother’s wild, uncaring cruelty either.
