"Finney," Mando says, soft.
"Don't call me that!" The snarl rips through the quiet of the woods. "Don't ever call me that."
"Okay," he concedes, "Okay. I won't. But I need you to know, it doesn't… whatever he did, it doesn't make you less of a man."
Finn laughs, raw and bitter. He's been a man since he was thirteen. Because that's what happens when you lose your virginity, right? You stop being a kid. When you kill someone with your bare hands, that's adulthood. You don't get to go back to glow in the dark stars on the ceiling and model rockets. That's all kid shit. And Finn hasn't been a kid in years.
"What do you want, Mando?" he asks, and he sounds angry and exhausted and cracked in half.
"To talk."

"Robin would describe thoughts as being divided into three categories.
First, there were the feelings. Right now, Ernesto’s were shooting through them. Things like shame, embarrassment, and panic. They permeated the whole body and were impossible to ignore.
Second were the verbal thoughts. The words that ran through a person’s head like a dialogue. Right now, Ernesto’s were directed at him and they were all variations of ‘I’m sorry’ and ‘Shit! I can’t stop!’
Which made sense, because the third and final category was visual thoughts. They were the pictures a person’s mind created. Sometimes they even played more like a movie. In this case, Ernesto’s was a mixture, but all of the same subject matter: Finney Blake. And they were not innocent."
AKA: The time the crew found out Ernesto was into Finn.

He was half expecting for his mother to answer but instead was met with a meek voice on the other line. “Hello?” If he didn’t know better, and if there were a less shaky sound to it, Finn would’ve thought it was Robin. But he did know better. Finn didn’t answer for a minute, fighting with himself internally on whether or not he should do this.
“Ernesto,” Finn finally spoke up. He heard the breathing on the end of the line stop as Ernesto inhaled sharply. “You busy?”
“N—uh, no.” He replied after a moment. He heard a sniffle and his heart hurt momentarily, had Ernie been crying? And was it because he missed Robin or because Finn had fucked him and ignored him for weeks?

Ernesto, by contrast, looks relieved at Mando being here. "Um, Gwen, did you have any dreams?" he asks. "Because, uh, I woke up and-" his face flickers, and he lifts his shirt a bit.
Finn nearly vomits on the spot. If it weren't for the fact that there's nothing left in his stomach, he's sure he would've. Handprints burned into Ernie's waist. Just above the waist of his flannel pajama pants. Big and matching the ones on Finn's thighs. He gags, covering his mouth with a shaking hand.
"That's frostbite," Mando says, voice dropping the cheer he had clearly been trying to keep up. "Sit down, we need to treat that immediately."
Ernie sits, and Finn wants to scream at him for being so open with it. Like he doesn't seem to understand what it means. Robin, Robin is sitting on that bunk and staring accusingly at Finn. Still thirteen, forever thirteen, and he's pissed because Finn let the same thing that happened to both of them happen to Ernesto. He hopes Robin kills him for it.

“You fucking—you look like him,” Finney spits again, voice low and cracking and breaking like a tree branch imploding underneath it’s own weight. Self-sabotage in all its chaos and glory. And before Ernesto can react, Finney’s fist jerks forward like the movement is intrinsic and practiced to its core—a sharp hit to the jaw, the sound of impact splitting the air, and then another.
Ernesto staggers back, hands up, wide-eyed like a deer under the interrogative gaze of headlights, but he doesn’t fall. Not at first. His mouth cracks open, a sharp gasp, but Finney barely hears it over the whirling storm inside his own skull. He swings again, a wild, desperate motion, the world around him tilting, blurring. He’s not even aiming anymore—just striking at the air, at the memory, at the grief that’s taken shape and manifested horribly, devastatingly as the boy standing in front of him.
Or; Finney misses Robin. Ernesto suffers the consequences.
