This started because of my Year of the OTP JaySteph series, and I just kept having more cute thoughts and ideas about this little universe and needed a place to put them. I’ll be incorporating that series and expanding on this universe bit by bit.
Because what if, despite or maybe sometimes because of, the pain and loss and hurt there was healing and love and hope too? What if, instead of hoping for just a happy ending, we worked on a happy now?

Peter closes his eyes with a slow and deliberate movement, disappointment evident in the way his shoulders relax in defeat, “So you're not my dad, huh?”
“No, Peter,” Bruce confirms gently, not sure why the truth feels wrong, “I'm not your father.”
The boy opens his eyes, expression full of grief and eyes a blazing gold flecked with green, “My name's actually Jason.”

Summary
His big boy had grown up. He left him, master, and the grey man all alone in the big house. One day- Ace was a puppy when a new stray was brought home. The stray was skittish, he growled, and bit, but Ace loved him so.
He was his boy.
But then his boy left too- but he did not visit. Ace did not understand. He waited, in his bed by the door. For the day his boy would come home.
TLDR: Inspired by Argos from the Odyssey, a story where after Jaybin dies, Ace the bathound copes with the loss of his boy alongside the rest of his pack. Navigating the next Robins, and the fateful day that his boy comes home.
(ANGST WITH A HAPPY ENDING- Also non betad, I literally started and finished this in 2 hours.)
