Summary
It had seemed like everything Shane had ever wanted in life was about to be within reach, with a family, home, and a child on the way. However, the oligarch alphas are quick to remind Shane of their control over the country of Canada, revealing their knowledge of the exact location of his funds and his family, as well as the extent to which they are able to make threats against him. When Shane finds himself forced to show his allegiance to those who have been ruling the country all along, he decides to play by their rules if it means ensuring his safety and that of Ilya and their upcoming child.
Ilya has never been a fan of waiting around and expecting someone else to take care of things. So, when he finds out that there are some people brave enough to stand up to the alphas, he has to join their cause, no matter the risk of having to hide from his family. However, as he gets more involved in the process, he starts thinking about how much he is willing to do to make sure his child won't have to experience the same fate he did.
