“I just want to converse with you,” he responded, lifting his head to look up at Olruggio before he continued, “I’d hate for you to lose it.”
Placing his palm against his cheek, Olruggio leaned down to kiss the top of Qifrey’s head, lingering there when he held him tighter against his body, his own thin fingers reaching up to hold on to that sweet hand that held him. Brushing his thumb underneath Qifrey’s eye, Olruggio leaned back against the hammock, allowing his eyes to close as Qifrey’s hand laid on his chest.
“You don’t have to worry about that, love.”
It's Olruggio's birthday. Qifrey and the girls have a surprise for him.

“What’s all this for?” The girls all took their places around the table, motioning for Olruggio to sit at the end next to Qifrey’s vacant seat.
“You really don’t know?” Agott asked incredulously.
Tetia directed a disappointed glare at him. “Honestly Master Olly, how could you?”
A flash of panic gripped his chest. “Don’t tell me I forgot one of your birthdays,” he groaned. He put his head in his hands, covering his face. Tetia’s birthday surely wasn’t for a few more weeks and Qifrey’s another month or so after that. He couldn’t be that off on his calendar, and everyone else had theirs already this year, he’d swear by it.
“I think you might have forgotten your own, dear.”
Post-tree, Olruggio's been a little pre-occupied to remember he's turning thirty.
