Ava let out a soft laugh. "No. I want to go my own way... and Harry said you know best for what house I should go to."
The hat let out a soft chuckle. "I see. When your brother sat here I told him he would make a fine Slytherin, who would go on to do great things, but he preferred the valor of a Gryffindor and that of his friends. You however seem to be driven by ambition, do you also wish for valor more?"
Ava shook her head before remembering that the hat probably couldn't see her. "No, I'd prefer not to be in the spotlight. My brother is in it enough already."
"I see. Better be-" He replied, before loudly announcing to the whole hall. "SLYTHERIN."

Draco Malfoy, stuck in the 1940s...but things are wrong. Grindelwald isn't defeated, Riddle is having dinner times with the infamous dark lord, and for some reason...his grandparents still haven't had kids.
"...suffocating, dishonest old bastard," Draco hissed, his teeth chattering audibly as he rubbed his freezing fingers against the oversized wool. "Keep me locked up 'for my own good,' right. Like hell. I'll freeze in the bloody Alps before I play pet to another megalomaniac..."
He took another blind step into the room, leaving a faint, damp smudge of blood from his bare feet on the priceless rug.
"...grand speeches and pretty words. I should have stabbed him with the butter knife—"
Draco stopped.
The heat of the massive hearth finally registered. The smell of roasted meat hit his starved senses. Slowly, his chest seizing mid-breath, Draco raised his head and locked eyes with the most dangerous dinner party of the twentieth century.

His father his is brother, his godfather his father's lover, and his grandfather his father. What an interesting twist. With the knowledge of his inability to return to the dimension he lived before, he must continue living in this dimension. With overly sensitive and aggressive magic, an overprotective older brother Lucius, and TWO Potters instead of one. He also begins to catch the eye of one Tom Riddle, and must now deal with a pesky magical inheritance on top of it all. Great.

"You've got to be kidding me," Draco muttered under his breath, staring at the door of his room, his fingers were trembling, his body shaking, and his eyes were blown wide. A hand covered his hip, as tears clung to his eyes. Voldermort wanted him to kill Albus Dumbledore, and to find a way into Hogwarts. That was not what freaked him out so much, today, however, it was what he had seen as he had been dragged to a hunting session earlier. The robes had parted just enough and Draco saw...IT. How could the Fates have been so cruel as to pair him up with such a cruel being. He knew that should Voldermort find out...Draoc shuddered, swallowing hesitantly. His father was in Azkaban, there was nothing he could do.
"You're right." Draco started, staring up at the figure that seem to have just...shimmered in his room. "The fates are cruel. So how about this...I can give you one chance. However, you won't be able to return. Take it, if you wish." He had not even needed to think about it. Why not? What else did he have to love? His life? His pride? His dignity? All of those were already as good as gone anyways.
"Very well." He muttered the words and found himself yelping as his body hit cobblestone.
