Will is silent for long enough that Max looks back at him questioningly. She scans his face, and he's sure that his cheeks are bright red.
"Max," he says finally, voice quiet and disbelieving. "I think that one's about me."

Mike looks up, eyes wide. His ears turn a brilliant shade of red. “Oh. I was, um– I was talking to…” Mike takes a long pause, then screws his eyes shut and tips his head back. He lets out a mumbled string of words that Will doesn’t catch.
“Huh?”
“I said,” Mike says, speaking louder and opening his eyes, “hisnameisWill.”
For a long, long moment, it’s completely silent. The bunny’s nose twitches. Will stares at Mike, uncomprehending, and Mike stares back at him, his jaw clenched. Somewhere outside, the wail of an ambulance nears and then fades.
“Um…” Now it’s Will’s turn to trail off. He has no idea how to respond to that. He has no idea how to even process that. “You named your rabbit… Will?”
Or: the appropriate response to discovering that your estranged childhood best friend named his depression pet after you.
