Summary
Myriah Martell, who is not yet queen, brokers a marriage for her eldest son to bolster her husband’s tenuous position in King Aegon’s court of vultures and vipers. The Seven’s blessed children are few and far between in the Red Keep. Some foster across the realm, some are drowned in gutters. Most are kept out of sight and out of mind.
Some thirty years later, a hedge knight called Dunk makes the acquaintance of the least eligible man in Westeros whilst smelling like horse, salt beef, and pond scum.
Complications ensue.
