It was in that very same table that a grey haired eccentric met an ambitious, artistic optimist all those years ago.
The story was as follows, as we all know it.
Except the addition of a crooked paper crane.5 times Kaveh gave Alhaitham a paper crane + 1 time Alhaitham gave him one back

Summary
Sandrone is gone, isn’t she? Columbina held her mechanical body, cradled it in her arms as the key in her back stopped turning, poured her kuuvahki, sparse as it may be, all over Teyvat to sense her presence.
Nowhere does she feel Sandrone. As expected, she is alone, she has always been. As a goddess of the Frostmoon Scions, a harbinger of the Fatui, there is no one beside her to act as a true companion.
Columbina yearns for Sandrone. She gets invited to breakfast with Lauma and Nefer.

Summary
Clearly, the universe is aligning in a most inaccurate way, for Director Aventurine of the Ten Stonehearts is not in love with Dr. Veritas Ratio of the Intelligentsia Guild.
More curiously, how could this be? Perhaps those magenta and blue ringed irises serve as a veil to the ultimate truth— Veritas Ratio is perfect to fall in love with.
In which both of them think the other isn’t in love

Summary
“Hmph.” Kaveh steps closer. "So why choose to listen to my voice even when I’m complaining about you?”
Alhaitham shuts his eyes. “Just because.”
“Being a little vague there, Scribe Alhaitham.”
“I just…” Alhaitham sighs. “I just really like your voice.”
Or, Kaveh learns sign language because he fears that Alhaitham is growing tired of his voice. He doesn't understand that Alhaitham actually... loves it.

Summary
"Welcome to a new user experience! You have triggered this interface with the keywords, ‘Stupid game! Stupid devs! I want my f*****g money back!’ You are now bound to the character Tartaglia, the Eleventh Harbinger of the Fatui, codename: Childe! We hope you have an enjoyable user experience and we welcome you once again to Genshin Impact 2.0!”
Those are some of the first words Ajax, starving college student extraordinaire, has the misfortune of hearing upon waking up in a brave new world from what he's fairly sure is a very fatal accident involving water and a shit ton of electricity.
Okay, so he's not dead. That's good. But what's this about him being stuck playing the character Tartaglia? Tartaglia, as in the no-good, one-dimensional, cartoonish villain who met his untimely, gruesome death in the first act of the original game?
Forget this. Like hell Ajax is going to share that fate.
And so begins one man's journey to save himself from his awful destiny.

Summary
And then, the unimaginable happens.
Aventurine, his roommate, the man he only occasionally speaks to for more than minutes at a time, leans over in their shared bed, and kisses him. A brief peck, leaving Veritas no time to react and his world spinning.
"Wait." He says firmly, giving his roommate pause. "Why did you do that?"
Aventurine snorts, and his lips twitch like he's trying not to smile. "You told me you love me. You don't remember?"
The air knocks itself out of Veritas' lungs. "I…I what?"
The countdown to one Veritas Ratio telling his roommate that he loves him, and the days after.

Summary
Kaveh angrily shoves the last of his bagel down his throat, then cracks his knuckles and positions his keyboard out in front of him.
you, he types furiously into the small comment box, are exactly the reason why so many fanfic authors quit writing. lucky for you i don’t give a SHIT about your blockheaded, extremely unqualified opinion. thanks for adding to my already massive view count!!! be sure to subscribe to get notified when i post another work!
Then he presses post and slams his laptop closed.
Kaveh deals with his #1 internet hater, FlyingVulture: some rando who reads his Deshret x Nabu fanfiction and leaves comments about how bad his characterization is.
Meanwhile, he also deals with his #1 real life hater, Al-Haitham: his roommate.
