“Your Majesty,” Gwen says sweetly, “please do not slouch.”
“I highly doubt he’ll be looking at me,” Arthur drawls, “when he’s come all this way to marry you.”

“Merlin,” Arthur grumbled to his servant, who was sitting by the fire Merlin looks over his shoulder at Arthur curled up in his bedroll. “Get over here, it’s cold.”
“You want me to come and cuddle you for warmth?” Merlin asked, tauntingly, but makes to stand up anyway.
“It’s not cuddling,” Arthur insisted, though he opens his arms for Merlin to crawl into them. “It’s called survival. I’m stealing your warmth. It’s your duty to make sure I’m kept comfortable, is it not?”

Arthur doesn't realise Merlin is his Favourite. Merlin has no idea what a King's Favourite even is. Everyone else in Camelot knows Merlin is Arthur's Favourite.

Summary
When they arrive at the kingdom Merlin can already tell something’s wrong.
Which isn’t great because now the others can tell that he feels something wrong and he’s being an inconvenience because they have more important things to focus on.
He tries telling Lancelot that when the knight notices he’s falling behind a little bit but Lancelot just has him breathe a few times and tells him that if it’s worrying him, they’ll listen.
He tries telling Arthur that but Arthur just listens to him patiently and assures them they’ll keep their eyes open, thank you for being on guard.
Which is rude because Arthur says it in the gentle voice that he only uses for Merlin and he has to smile at Merlin like he’s something precious and something to be protected and Merlin is far too overwhelmed with actual panic right now to worry about gay panic.
In which lords are crafty, truth spells are pesky, and secrets don't hurt as much as we thought.

Merlin slumped into the room and fell onto the bench of the table across from Gaius, laying his head dramatically on a book of something or other Arthur didn’t bother to look too closely at.
“Cursed.” Gaius echoed, unimpressed.
“Cursed.” Merlin sighed back, like some kind of weepy maiden.
“He can’t lie,” Arthur supplied, walking further into the room and standing behind Merlin, pushing his head off the book roughly. Merlin squawked and glared at him before shaking his head and turning back to Gaius.

Again, my ability to understand Micro fails me.
Like really fails me, second chapter destroyed microfiction dreams.Merlin meets Lance's group of Alpha friends, and find they're all very big on touch.
Well, all it seems, except Arthur.Just simple cuteness, no 18+ content. Tonnes of swearing though, and some insinuations, but no actual sex.
Now with second chapter Arthur's POV
And kissing, because as a commenter rightfully pointed out, no kissing was unacceptable.

Summary
Arthur is every bit the bully Merlin met on his first day, taking pleasure in harassing his manservant. When Merlin refuses one of Arthur’s more intimate demands, Arthur threatens to tell his father Merlin has magic. It surprises Arthur how well the empty threat works. And it keeps working. Until eventually, Merlin doesn’t need threatened at all.
When Arthur finds himself and his knights in a hopeless situation, he finds out why his initial threat worked so well.
Merlin sees everything as a series of tests to prove he isn’t a threat and deserves Arthur’s protection. As Arthur begins treating him like a trusted companion, Merlin is hopeful that destiny is right about the Once and Future King.
Note: Starts early with sexual coercion and leans into dubious consent. This doesn't get instantly forgiven after the reveal, but has a hopeful redemption ending.

“No. It’s just that…” Arthur exhaled loudly through his nose, the backs of his eyes burning. “Mum, what does it mean when you think about someone all the time? And you miss them whenever they’re not around, even if they’re literally just in the next room over? And when you look at them, you feel like you’re going to be sick, but in a good way, like when you’re on a rollercoaster? And your thoughts get all jumbled up and you end up saying things you don’t even mean to because you’re too scared to say all the things you do mean? Am I losing my mind?”
Ygraine remained quiet for several pounding heartbeats. “Only you can honestly answer that question, darling. But to me it sounds a lot like love.”
Arthur resolves to tell Merlin he's in love with him, but not without a little help from his mum.
