Kevin sat curled in a corner, skin feeling tight as saltwater dried on his body. His head was bent slightly forward, causing a painful ache in his neck, though he hadn’t the energy to straighten up. His back touched the hard wall while his eyes followed the figure in the kitchen. All red, white, blue and gold. All light eyes and soft blonde hair, with lips that curled in displeasure and a firmly set jaw.
A rewrite of The Deep’s death scene in which Homelander’s intrinsic need for true devotion causes him to swoop in at the last minute and rescue him!

Ryan walks in and stops Butcher from killing stupid megalomaniac freak Homelander, something about morals and all.
The whole ordeal somehow ends with everyone agreeing to have Butcher take this guy in his custody.
Why not just send him away? Well, easy. Someone could shape him up into an even stronger supe, maybe even immune to depowering. Why give him to Butcher, you ask? Because Homelander DOES deserve punishment for his actions and...who can be overly cruel out of spite alone? Yeah exactly, butcher.
