Summary
He'd made it halfway through writing the first note before it felt suddenly far too pathetic. Was this seriously the legacy he wanted to leave behind? No one would talk about any of his wins if he killed himself now. He would be the failed Russian team captain of the 2014 Olympics who couldn't handle the job and offed himself about it. His father would probably follow him in death just to yell at him for embarrassing the family, and Russia, and everyone who had ever rooted for him.
And when he had been made captain in Boston, he had promised his Bears he would get them a cup. He couldn't just leave without doing that. Didn't want to leave and let people think he was a liar, or that he just gave up when things got hard, lazy, useless, stupid boy.
He tore up the note he'd begun, and began his second plan instead.

A canon retelling diverging post tuna melt, and for the better! Some weird combo of book and show canon. Series should be read in order. None are meant to stand alone.
Note: This series is a combination of the book and TV canon (book names and timeline-ish with TV dialogue and character bodies (is that a weird way to say picture Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie as the characters?)).

She thought that question was clear, but perhaps not. “Like, philanthropy?” Given what hot boyfriend wears, he’s got to be making some serious buck. Or he was born into wealth. “My friend James dated a Russian socialite for a couple of months, and she just went to art galleries and threw dinner parties,” Ana elaborates. “Her dad’s an oligarch who, like, defected from the motherland in the late nineties.”

OMGGGG. YES YES YES. i loved this sos so so so much. its amazing like so good. the characterization to great. ilya is just beautiful in this. and also love the way shane is portrayed. they are so good together. and YUNA! love also the whole NYC crew, you have my heart :)
