Summary
That warmth seems like a distant memory right now, as Garak phases in and out of consciousness. An ion surge from the wormhole has caused several of the station's main systems to overload; to Garak’s chagrin, one of those systems was weather and temperature control. As soon as the announcement came through the emergency comms system, he gathered every blanket, coat, and thermal undershirt he owned and constructed a “nest” to bury himself in, hoping this would offer at least some protection from the freezing temperatures. After two hours, however, he realized that it wouldn’t be enough. As the unforgiving cold from outer space seeps through the bulkheads, Garak faces the increasing possibility that he might freeze to death before the Engineering crew is able to restore the systems.
Or: Bashir's human warmth reminds Garak of the sunrises from his youth.

Summary
The invitation comes through the mail in the form of a very solemn-looking but otherwise nondescript scroll of parchment. At first glance, Taako thinks it’s for one of Lucretia’s many fundraising events - that’s why the loud explosion catches him off-guard. He drops it with an undignified yelp as fiery letters manifest out of thin air:
“LUP TAACO & BARROLD BLUEJEANS REQUEST THE PLEASURE OF YOUR COMPANY AT THE CELEBRATION OF THEIR UNION”

Summary
There's a hacking cough, and Luis' eyelids ease open as if they had been stuck together with glue. "Leon."
The sound of his name in that soft, husky voice sends a wash of relief through him, even if it has a broken, scratchy quality that makes it sound as if Luis has swallowed glass shards. "You've been passed out for a while."
For once, Leon doesn't know what to do. Saddler is still out there, and the duty ingrained in his bones and flesh through years of training eclipses the small, crushed desire to protect Luis from further harm. He’s already left him once. He doesn’t know how to do it again.
In a quiet moment with Ashley asleep, Leon and Luis take the chance to finally talk.

Summary
"There were golden tears running down her cheeks. He should have known. But he’d barely slept since she was here, had no idea even what day it was, what was real and what wasn’t. It was beautifully, wonderfully easy to deny it all as just a dream in those early days. He would never have to stop a dream."
What if Rose left a small part of herself behind when she looked into the heart of the TARDIS?

Summary
Luis' tone is snappy and he sounds alarmingly like he's fading away. Leon, not for the first time, feels out of his depth.
It's like it's finally sunk in that he's alone here. Sick. Dying, maybe. And he hasn't even saved one person. Not one .
And yet another is dying, slipping right through his fingers.
His eyes close and his hands shake, almost tearing another slash in Luis' ruined shirt.
"You're going to live." Leon announces, his voice weaker than he'd like. "Because you don't get to die on me. Not now. Not ever."
"Ever?" Luis laughs and it sounds like a fork in a garbage disposal. Blood bubbles on his lips and he weakly spits it out, staining the dusty floor a lurid red. "That's serious business, Yanqui."
