Verso and Gustave were not bound together by Fate. Neither was born with the other's mark. This did not stop them from choosing each other anyway - nor does it stop Verso from making his own marks on his prince...

Sequel to 'Take from me my lace' though it isn't necessary to read that one first - unless you would like more Gustave wearing lingerie ;)
Gustave prepares for a nice weekend alone with Verso - a much-needed break after they both dealt with weeks of work and projects and obligations. Now very comfortable with walking into that lingerie boutique and adding to his growing collection, he sets out to purchase something new for their special 'down time'.
The goal? Make Verso short-circuit at the sight of him.
The result? Verso makes Gustave short-circuit instead.

In a hole in the ground, there lived a Verstave...
This one-shot prequel is set pre-Hobbit Adventure and alternates between 'Then' (when dwarf Verso and hobbit Gustave first meet) and 'Now' (when Verso returns to la Comté/The Shire and has some explaining to do...). I might revisit this some day and continue on to the actual 'reclaim the mountain!' adventure, but this is just a little fusion with some of my favorite Bagginshield tropes.
The Hobbit and Verstave fusion! This is so very niche, but I hope you enjoy it!

Summary

After the death of his sister Emma, Gustave and his adopted sister Maelle move to the seaside town of Lumière where Gustave takes up freelance work as an engineer. With little money to his name, he settles on a unique cottage in a prime location that is miraculously within his budget.
It would seem 'haunted' is not exactly a desired 'feature' for most people when looking for a new home…
Verstave AU for one of my favorite movies: The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947)!
