Moments aside from the fear of death, the constant state of survival, survival, survival. Eight bodies draped over one another around crackling flames. Pot gummies loosening their tongues and inhibitions. Laughing and playing chicken in the ocean. That moment during sunset where escaping sunlight hits dark skin at just the right angle, making it glow with hues of orange, pink, and red. The urge to press her mouth firmly against a certain thin-lipped smirk.

This weedy little kid with his trademark curls shaved clean away and a military issue rifle still in his newly calloused hands had just killed four men at long range without blinking. And as their blood stained the sand, the blood of men with families, men who, despite their malicious cause, were still only men, Richie found his place in the world was clear. He was destined to be the man behind the scope, murder in his hands, a puppet on a string. Summary
Dorothy Campbell doesn't know who she is. She never got the chance to properly grieve her best friend and only family before being shipped away to an island and constantly trying to survive 'til morning, so how the fuck does she figure out how to live now? When she drops off the face of the earth after returning to Texas, intent on figuring that the fuck out, she doesn't think she'll be missed. She's very wrong.
Fatin Jamandi is fucked up enough. Her parents are still fighting, maybe worse than ever. She was stranded on an island for a while, almost dying SEVERAL times. She can't sleep, and yet never wants to get out of bed. And now the girl she's in love with has disappeared, whether by choice or not unclear. How could her life possibly get worse?
Leah Rilke is there to pick up the pieces for her best friend as she pines and falls apart. And maybe she's in love with said friend. But it isn't about her, it's about Fatin, and so she shoves it down and survives. Except maybe she's really angry.

"Morning, beautiful," Eddie hums, stepping in close enough that Buck can smell her shampoo, and then, without any fanfare whatsoever, she leans in and presses a quick, absent kiss to Buck's cheek before reaching past her for the creamer and wandering off toward the table.
Buck stops breathing.

Summary
Eddie is so unused to being this fucking messed up over one specific person, and it’s driving him absolutely crazy. The fact that it’s Steve fucking Harrington doesn’t make it any better, and even though Eddie knows him now and he’s a good guy (the best guy, actually), it doesn’t help that Steve is probably, one hundred percent not interested.

Steve wants to ask them how Eddie’s doing but then his face from that last party flashes into his head and he always clams up. If he was Eddie he’d want nothing to do with him and rightly so.
Instead Steve teasingly complains about how much time they spend with Eddie and that’s as far as it goes.
