Summary
When Proud Immortal Demon Way announced an official game, Shen Yuan expected cheap fanservice and questionable lore—which is exactly what he got when the dating simulator Hearts of the Immortal Realm was released.
What he didn’t expect was for the game to start behaving strangely almost immediately. The “short” tutorial featuring White Lotus Luo Binghe stretches on far longer than it should. Dialogue boxes glitch. Scenes that aren’t supposed to exist begin to play. And Luo Binghe starts responding as if speaking to Shen Yuan himself.
At least once Luo Binghe falls into the Abyss, the game can finally get back on track—letting Shen Yuan pursue a wife of his choice.

Green and white robes, the colours of spring bamboo and fresh snow, cut from silk so fine it seemed to flow like water with every movement. The man who wore them moved with a controlled grace that made everyone else look clumsy by comparison — each gesture precise, deliberate, beautiful in its economy. He settled onto his cushion in one fluid motion and produced a folding fan from his sleeve, snapping it open with a flick of his wrist that was almost musical.
He looked like a painting. He looked like a poem. He looked like the kind of beauty that started wars and ended dynasties, and he was sitting close enough that Tianlang-Jun could see the faint embroidery on his sleeves — bamboo leaves stitched in thread just slightly darker than the silk beneath.
"Zhuzhi-Lang," he whispered, unable to look away. "Tell me you see him too. The beauty in green. Please tell me I'm not hallucinating."
There was a sigh from his nephew, "This one sees him, Junshang."

What wasn't wrong? Binghe was out of the Abyss two years too early, and the plant bodies weren't ready, and Binghe had never been an omega in PIDW—which meant that whatever revenge scheme he had cooked up was so far outside of the original plot that there was no way for Shen Qingqiu to plan for it.
And then there was the fact that, despite everything, Shen Qingqiu couldn't stop noticing how good Binghe smelled.
In which Binghe is an omega (eventually), and Shen Qingqiu is an alpha (eventually), and they both manage to work things out. Eventually.

Shen Qingqiu, an alpha who was an omega in his past life, runs into Luo Binghe in JinLan City. Which is a shock by itself, but what's more shocking is that Binghe (the stallion alpha protagonist to end all alpha protagonists) is an omega!
Omegaverse, in my opinion, is always at its best when it's used as a metaphor for something in the real world. I don't think it's a wild take to say presentations are a stand in for genders in this story. Seeing Shen Qingqiu have to question his own internalized sexism when confronted with someone who changed their own gender (and have to consider himself in the same boat if through completely different circumstances) is just so interesting to read. It also adds a whole other layer to their romance, of Luo Binghe looking up to him as someone he sees as someone who has successfully transitioned. It's just such a cool way to represent these two and this subject and I can't recommend it enough.
