"You could be looking at the intricate carvings on the pillars with me," Galinda retorts sharply, squealing slightly as Elphaba encroaches into what's left of her personal space, "and yet, you're busy doing" -- she gestures around aimlessly -- "this instead."
This, of course, is Elphaba's terrible, horrific behavior of pinning her loving girlfriend up against various surfaces at the most impromptu of times.

Something blossoms deep within her chest, in the little crevices of her heart, and twisting it's way up until there's nothing left for her to say but an “I love you.”
Love is a single heartbeat followed by this warm, fast blooming feeling of domesticity. She envisions it as Galinda kisses her, that these things that bloom in her heart are flowers; Poppies, Marigolds, the Morning Glories that continuously bespeckle Shiz’s manicured lawns.

Fiyero loves the cold winter mornings where everyone is far too reluctant to get out of bed.
It's in between this strange state between wakefulness and sleep deprivation caused by the early morning risers on opposite sides of him tugging and pulling at the sheets where he registers the temperature in their room, a statement his brain repeats not unlike a broken record: it's cold, cold, cold.

It doesn’t get better as the year in Shiz progresses; Glinda sees the looks that Fiyero and Elphaba share, those long, infatuated stares that they think go unnoticeable to others. It reminds Glinda, at least vaguely, of her and Fiyero’s first month together as a couple: the honeymoon stage, the quiet looks they share, fleeting, half-crescent smiles; a heartbeat followed by the warm, fast blooming feeling of domesticity.
