Work Text:
Chuuya spouted curses under his breath, his face red and his body sweaty. Recently, Yokohama had been hit with a rather intense heatwave, which wouldn’t have been a problem if his usual attire didn’t cover every damn inch of his body.
He had considered changing his attire just until the heat subsided, but he didn’t know what to wear. He had never been subjected to such extreme conditions before and as such, he didn’t exactly have any summer wear.
A soft ‘jingle’ caught his attention. He turned around to see someone had just exited the designer store next to him. He saw they were having a summer sale, and turned his attention to the various articles of clothing displayed.
A pair of fiat beige shorts bound by a black belt caught his eye. The shorts in question reached till the waist of the mannequin, molding against its shape and stopping just barely above its mid-thigh. The mannequin was also wearing a black sleeveless turtleneck with a fiat beige coat. The coat was made of a flimsy material, probably thin enough that it wouldn’t cause any discomfort in the blistering heat.
Chuuya paused, contemplating whether or not he should buy it. On one hand, it would definitely beat the heat, and Chuuya’s upper body would still be at least decently covered. On the other hand, Chuuya didn’t know if he wanted to leave half of his legs bare like that. His sweat drenched pants were a reminder of the comfort that he could have.
“Oh fuck this.” Sighing, he walked into the store, hoping he would not regret his decision later.

It was safe to say that most of the port mafia members were very confused. They had seen a lot of things as mafiosos.
Dead bodies? Yes. Torture? Yes. But one of their scariest executives walking around in a gorgeous new outfit? No.
It wasn’t like the red head wasn’t beautiful, by all means he was probably the most attractive member of the port mafia, but with his creamy smooth skin now exposed, it seemed to be the only thing anyone could look at.
Chuuya himself was completely oblivious to all the attention he seemed to be garnering. Hell, even Mori was intrigued by the executive’s (unintentionally) bold move. The mafia boss wondered what a certain ex-executive would say if he saw his ‘dog’ in such attire. The taller half of Soukoku would have killed anyone who even looked at Chuuya had he stayed in the Mafia.
Mori considered doing something absolutely stupid, one that would definelty get him killed by Dazai’s hands, but still entertaining nonetheless. For an upcoming joint mission between the PM and the ADA, Mori had to send one PM executive to discuss some plans. Mori decided to send Chuuya… in his current attire…
Dazai would know of course, that Mori had done this deliberately. But it wouldn’t change the twinge of jealously Dazai would feel. And jealous people tend to do stupid things in order to stake their claim. Perhaps he would have to sacrifice some random mafia grunt, but if it could drag his beloved prodigy out of the light and into the darkness, then it would be well worth it.
Dazai wasn’t stupid by any means, and this alone would not be enough to convince him to come back, but it would be progress either way.
A small smirk graced Mori’s features, as his gaze landed on the petit red haired executive standing a few meters away from him. The light had stolen his most precious chess piece from him, and he intended to get it back by any means necessary, even if he needed his most capable executive to unknowingly seduce Dazai.
…
Actually he changed his mind. The best way to guarantee a reaction from the former demon prodigy, was to send someone he knew alongside Chuuya, preferably someone Dazai wasn’t on the best of terms with, but someone who Chuuya was fond of. Now… who would he choose for the task?

”Chuuya-san…?”
Needless to say, Akutagawa was surprised when he was called over to Mori’s office for an errand run. He was even more surprised when he saw his red headed superior walk into the boss’ office, wearing a pair of fucking shorts (those shorts were not modest in any way). Apparently, he had been chosen to escort Chuuya (who would be the port mafia’s representative) to a meeting with the ADA.
Seriously was his boss trying to get him killed? Akutagawa was no stranger to Dazai’s possessiveness, having witnessed several grunts lose their lives when Dazai was feeling spiteful enough.
And with Chuuya in his current attire, he was sure even glancing at the smaller mafioso would get him killed by his former mentor. But he could not refuse the boss’ orders, so it seemed he had to choose between death by Dazai’s hands or death by Mori’s hands.
Sighing, he simply resigned himself to his fate, following behind Chuuya and praying to the gods that his life would be spared.

Dazai was not amused. Seeing his chibi all dressed up and pretty was always satisfying to him. But knowing that people other than him had seen his dog like this made his blood boil.
Just a few minutes earlier, Dazai was happily singing his suicide song, waiting for the port mafia representative to arrive. He did not expect Chuuya to be the one to attend the meeting (This was definitely Mori’s doing), he did not expect Akutagawa of all people to escort the petit mafioso, and he did not expect Chuuya to be wearing a pair of fucking shorts.
The shorts left nothing to imagination, exposing most of Chuuya’s bare legs, and fitting snugly along his already snatched waist. Dazai knew this was Chuuya’s way of getting around the rising temperatures (he could understand since he took off his usual cardigan and rolled up the sleeves of his shirt), but was his dog really this oblivious?
Did he not realize just how enticing he looked like that?
How gorgeous he looked just by sitting next to someone in those clothes?
Just how many people had seen him like this?
Akutagawa looked very uncomfortable standing next to Chuuya, avoiding any and all eye contact especially with a glaring Dazai looking seconds away from pulling a gun on him.
It seemed that Dazai wasn’t the only one who noticed though. Atsushi’s jaw dropped to the floor, Ranpo smiled knowingly, Kunikida gaped at the red headed mafioso, Yosano wolf whistled, while Fukuzawa remained unbothered. Now Dazai loved all of his colleagues but he did not appreciate them staring at what was essentially his.
He would definitely be having a talk with Chuuya after this meeting was over. Clearly the shorter half of Soukoku needed to be reminded of who he belonged to.
The meeting lasted about 30 minutes and oh god Akutagawa just wanted to bury himself 6 feet underground (he had a feeling Dazai would do it himself if he wasn’t planning to already). To make matters worse, after the meeting was over Chuuya got up and pat Akutagawa on the back, praising him, “Good job kid, you did well.” He swore that the temperature of the room dropped a several degrees and pointedly looked at the very interesting wall in front of him.
He prayed that Dazai’s desire to uphold Oda’s wishes was greater than his possessiveness, because if his fate wasn’t sealed before, it certainly was now.
The second that Chuuya had finished up with the finer details of the discussion, Akutagawa immediately ran out of the building, trying to put as much distance between him and the ex-executive. Chuuya was confused, but before he could chase after his subordinate, a slender hand grabbed his wrist. He turned around to face Dazai, looking at him with a forced smile.
“Ne Chuuya, there’s something we should talk about, don’t you think~?” Chuuya was just confused, why was the Mackerel looking at him like that? Dazai’s tone was sharp and his face had darkened significantly. Was he angry at him? He didn’t even see him all day, what could he have possibly done to earn such a reaction from the taller man?
”There’s nothing to talk about Dazai. Now let go of me asshole, I need to get back to my work.” He tried to pull away but Dazai’s grip on his wrist tightened. “Surely my Chibi can’t be this oblivious can he? Has his hat finally eaten all his braincells?”
‘My’ chibi?
…
Oh
Ohhhhhhhhh
Was Dazai just jealous the entire time? Oh he really fucked up now. He made the waste of bandages jealous. Yeah… safe to say, Chuuya thinks he won’t be able to feel his lower body at all by the time Dazai’s done with him.
Dazai turned to the others, a cold smile plastered on his face, “I need to talk to the slug about something very important. It’ll take a while so don’t expect me back for a while k~?” His co-workers froze at his dark tone (yes Yosano as well and that’s saying something), even Kunikida didn’t try to reprimand his partner. Dazai walked out of the agency building, dragging Chuuya all the way over to his apartment.
Let’s just say, neither of them got any sleep that night.
…
Also the neighbors filed a noise complaint.
