“You really want to do an eight-course meal that’s all rabbit food, Den?” Robby asked again. He grinned.
“Michael, you’re a doctor,” Dennis reminded him. “You know how important a healthy diet is.”
“I don’t know, I’m pretty set in my ways, Den,” Robby teased. “I don’t know if my body can handle things like carrots or spinach anymore.”
“You’d better get used to them again,” Dennis told him. “And fast, because you’re going to be eating them every day for a long time if I have anything to do with it.”
“Was that a threat?” Robby gasped in faux-surprise.
“It’s a promise,” Dennis told him seriously. Robby’s breath caught in his chest.
“Yeah,” he choked out. Robby hadn’t figured out yet how to avoid folding like a house of cards when Dennis mentioned the possibility of a future together. “Okay.”
