“She is an alpine guide. It's literally her job to show me around, as you have eloquently put it.”Or... A series of phone calls between Danny and Steve while he's busy traveling the world and finding himself. They bicker, they miss each other, they laugh and maybe... Maybe they stop fooling himself in the process.

Steve does. He puts Danny on speaker while he opens his messages and asks Lou about whatever might be wrong. His blood runs cold and his grips the phone tightly as he realizes what this is.
"Danno?" He asks after a moment. Silence before the call ends.

It wasn’t that they never planned to talk about it, where to take their relationship further. Truth be told, more times than not, they had agreed it would be discussed over the next dinner when the kids would be with Rachel, but then they would catch a case, and even though they ended up crashing together at either one of their places, being covered in dirt and blood with aching muscles and the need to sleep for three days didn’t seem like a good starting point when it came to the important talk of moving in together.
Or, 5 times Steve hints he wants Danny to move in, and 1 time he tells him.
