“You look like a startled stoat,” Arthur complains, and Merlin glances sidelong at him with eyes that look strangely yellowish in the sun.

Arthur and Morgana exchanged a panicked look. They both knew something was wrong. Uther wasn't telling them everything. And they probably wouldn't like the King's true reason for initiating those negotiations. If there was something both Arthur and Morgana knew with certainty, it was that Uther Pendragon hated anything that was even vaguely related to magic from the bottom of his heart. Just the day before, he had arrested two druids and executed one of them. The other, a child, was still locked in the dungeons.
