To- Thomas Shepherd has never been sure of anything in (either? of) his life (lives). The only thing he is sure of is how his story will end. The same way as the beginning and the middle: alone.
Vis- The Vis- *sigh* He'd tried Sherwood Ellis, but Vision was still, technically, his designation. Regardless, he's run the simulation more times than was reasonable and it always ended the same way: hopelessly lost.
Foregone conclusions have a way of being completely unpredictable.

Summary
Tommy just wants his family back.
Vision believes he's failed him. Billy is terrified of losing him again. And Tommy is caught between the pieces of a past he can't remember and a future he doesn't understand.
Sometimes, protecting someone means confronting the very thing you're afraid of.

Summary
Tommy couldn't let himself think about it. He didn’t obsessively replay Vision's revival in the pool, how he was shaking before he even stepped in. He let the water drip down his cheeks, a facsimile of tears he wouldn’t shed himself.
Vision still hadn’t returned when Tommy’s eyes startled to flutter, exhausted from the day, and alone at the end of it, how most of his days usually went. He wasn’t surprised to be abandoned again.
