“Yes, thank you Dream,” Phil says, pulling out his sword, letting it hang loosely in his hand as Techno holds onto Tommy’s arm, tugging the teen even more, to the point where Tommy thinks he might bump into Techno. “However, as of now, Tommy is under the protection of the Antarctic Empire.”
Dream shakes his head, laughing. “You can’t do that.” And as he walks forward to get closer, Phil points his sword right at Dream’s face.
“Yes, we can.” Phil responds, and Dream takes a step back when the edge of Phil’s sword pokes against his mask.

The very feeling of sorrow and rage seems to come through the paper, through the printed words. The words have been printed a thousand times over, spread throughout the lands, but the emotion never fades. The people read it again and again, and the emotion never fades the slightest bit.
‘How could you just leave him to die? We would have left you alone, we would have let you live your lives peacefully, if you hadn’t taken him away. We would have never been like this if you hadn’t taken him away from us.’

Wilbur walks at a steady pace through the forest, keeping his footsteps quiet, and keeping an eye out for movement. He’s good at traveling through the trees at night, and he’s used to the dark, after hiding in it for so much of his life.
Taking a step off a little ledge of dirt, Wilbur looks down as his foot lands on something strange, and he realizes far too late what he’s just stepped into.
Within seconds, Wilbur’s off the ground, yanked up into the air by a net with a scream.

Or, Techno, Wilbur, and Tommy are basically chaotic forces of nature, destined from birth to end the world and bring destruction. Most who hear of the tale of them are trying their best to track them down, and to end the monsters while they’re still young, still just children.
Phil has a different plan.
(In which Phil raises the minecraft equivalents of the anti-christ with love and support, so much so to the point where the world ending is really just a funny thought, and Phil has three kids who casually have powers that are bit more extreme than anything else in the world)

Scott steps past her, sits on the edge of the mattress, and opens his arms silently. That is all it takes.
Cleo crosses the room in unsteady steps and collapses into his chest. The sobs tear out of her. She buries her face against the front of his tunic, fingers fisting in the fabric hard enough to pull it tight, and cries with the full, unrestrained force of someone whose whole world has just been destroyed. She shakes against him. The little sounds she makes are raw and broken.
Scott wraps both arms around her and just holds on.

T’pri is twelve, but she feels so much younger, resting in a biobed, being told to eat. The reality of their mortality lingers around her, permeating her every thought. She knows what it’s like to starve. She thinks losing her dad would feel similarly—an ache that chews away at her insides, a rot that grows on everything she tries to consume. Her dad is fine, by one of those variable definitions, but one day he won’t be. She worries what will become of her when he’s not.
