We didn’t even kiss. What a stupid thing to say. Shane felt ridiculous and miserable the moment he hit send, but the season was over, and he could spend the rest of his summer wallowing. Shane was fine. Perfectly fine.
Just before he pressed the button to descend in the elevator, his phone buzzed.
Lily: fuck off
Shane’s stomach clenched in shame. Then, a moment later —
Lily: fuck. no. come back
Well, he didn’t quite know what to make of that.or
Shane sent the "we didn't even kiss" text and it opened them up to being more emotionally honest with each other much earlier. Mostly rewritten canon events and added missing scenes between time jumps.

Summary
Ilya Rozanov is an abused omega.
After he picks a fight with another resident, Rose Landry, founder of the Ruby Foundation for Abused Omegas, makes a call to her ex-boyfriend, Shane Hollander.
In a desperate attempt to keep Ilya off the streets, she asks Shane if he'd be willing to house the omega for rehabilitation.
Hockey season has officially ended. Shane has more space than he knows what to do with.
To Rose's delight and Ilya's dread, he says yes.
