Summary
In the isolated town of Graywick, frightened denizens rush home each night before the sun sets to save themselves from an attack by night thieves: immortal, red-eyed creatures that feast on the blood of humans. Lifelong friends Xisuma and Wels have spent their whole lives fleeing from the hungry beasts, but after Wels is maimed by Hypno, a particularly aggressive thief, the pair become the targets of Hypno's relentless torment.
Wels guards Xisuma against their stalker's hungry gaze until they are both attacked during a rain storm, and Xisuma is stolen from Graywick's colorless streets.
With the aid of his two brave neighbors, Wels intends to save his friend. But with no known weaknesses and a town too afraid to leave their homes after dark, confronting Xisuma's captors is easier said than done.
Meanwhile, locked away in their manor, Xisuma learns the reason behind his abduction, and the intentions the night thieves have for his blood and body.

Hi, I'm Captain Marvel, it's nice to meet you, Superboy. What's your name? Nobody in the League knew when I asked. I mean, if that's not rude, I don't know if you want Kid Flash and his parents to know it or if you're even ready to tell me yet, sorry, maybe I shouldn't actually have asked.”

“. . . oh, okay, so we're just starting totally from scratch here, huh,” Billy realizes, repressing a little wince.

“Scott! Oh my God!” Gem’s voice cracked across the ice, frantic, almost shrill. He could feel the tremor in the vibrations of her skates pounding against the ice, the chaos of her motion, but it was distant, like she was underwater.
Etho was sliding toward him, eyes wide, mouth moving but Tango couldn’t hear the words. All he registered was the motion, the panic radiating off Etho as he reached for him, calling for him to stay still, to breathe. Tango tried.. tried to lift a finger, tried to clear his throat, but no signal travelled.
No motion came.
Panic clawed its way into his chest. His chest rose and fell unevenly, not with controlled breathing but with the desperate, shallow heaving of someone drowning while standing upright. His vision shivered at the edges, a wavering tunnel of ice, lights, and flashing jerseys. The crowd was a smear of colour and shapes, eyes and mouths forming soundless screams.

Drown the fear she'd felt for everyone else in a desperate sprint across the Nether, forgo any guilt she has about leaving False behind; follow her instinctual compass north because there’s nowhere else to go.
It's only two weeks in that Gem finds she's not the only Hermit to escape through this dimension, when she hears screaming in the distance and takes a swift detour to find Xisuma suffering at Ex's hands.

Summary
Grian had been running for what felt like hours, gliding through the deep void in an attempt to escape the Watchers.
After finally finding a server to hide in he quickly realises that it was, in fact, not abandoned as he had assumed.When Xisuma went to check the new Hermitcraft Server he saw an intruder hack into it - quite literally.
Though it quickly turns out that the intruder was more a fugitive, running away from the very monsters the admin hated with his entire being.Walking a thin line between truth and lie Grian tries his best to cling to the new safe haven to heal up and hide from his captors, making more connections than he had preferred.
