Please…” His voice, even with the Clown Potion helping him keep the worst of his emotions locked behind his perfect mask, still cracked minutely. He coughed. “Help my allies find me..."

"Through Adversity To Return (to) Home"
In a world slightly to the left, the war against Siltvelt went slightly worse than canon. More people died on both sides, and even if the results were ultimately the same, the Three Heroes Church swore in the aftermath that someday the Shield Demon would pay. So the Church plotted and schemed, and upon the summoning of the Four Cardinal Heroes, they acted. It was found through journals of previous Heroes that curses could only be applied to a Hero if it did no direct damage, and if it could not be used to control the Hero. Thus, a holy curse was concocted to keep wounds on application fresh for as long as it was active. And after encouraging the King to do as he saw fit for a corporal punishment that ended with a least a little blood being shed, the Church sat back and watched their carefully crafted plan come to fruition...
This is a collection of moments from that offshoot, compiled together closely enough to almost resemble a story. Events will stay fairly close to canon, but it's the little things that can, at times, make all the difference. Very Naofumi-centric.

Summary
Lance Kingsmen is a simple man who has been through some hard times, but gaining custody over his nephew brought with it some of the best and worst of times and he wouldn't have it any other way.
A limited 3rd-person reflection on one of those worst times paired with one of the best: a love letter to an uncle character who certainly gets some love but I think deserves even more.

Summary
Spinning off from Chapter 33 of alphashley14's amazing fic: "One of Us"; In a "Bad Ending" what if scenario, Professor Pericles connects the dots that the angry ghost that ruined his plans was singing a song from the same group that "Ricky's" been singing the songs of for the last 2 days, which matches up timing-wise with some of the odd behaviors he's been previously brushing off. So, while he doesn't know who is currently in Ricky's body, he is fairly confident that whoever it is is associated with the Mystery Skulls in some way. Thus, Professor Pericles ramps his previous controlling behavior up to eleven and imprisons Arthur for a week before Lewis is finally able to break him out.
Chapter 1 is the imprisonment and Rescue; Chapter 2 is the fluff post rescue!

Simon let go of the blackbox and raised his arm towards the side of her face. When he missed, he started to panic, thinking that his hand went through her. He started to think that she wasn't real and that everything was just a hallucination but then, something warm grabbed ahold of his shaking hand and guided it towards her cheek.
"...Real?"
The hand squeezed his, letting him press harder onto the soft skin. "Yes, Simon. This is real. Now, do me a favor and keep your eyes open."

Summary
There is no support group for coming back from the dead and facing your past. This is a story about living past your life expectancy and how one man deals with it, with a little help from his friends.
This is a very classic take on the crossover - Grace saves Simon after Grace and Rocky save the stars and they continue on their way to Erid while teaching Simon everything he has missed out on and untangling the mystery of how and why he ended up in this timeline and galaxy. It's overall more focused on Simon (Sorry PHM-centered fans, Iron Lung is my original love), but explores Grace's loneliness and problems with people since being forced into space. There will be a lot of character moments, elaboration on who I think Simon is as a character and what he could have become, and fully self-indulgent moments for me and me alone (lmao.) There will be eventual feelings, but I am taking things glacier speed because this is a demisexual/aceflux Grace interpretation. Honestly, I agonized so hard on committing to aroace Grace and unrequited affection from Simon. . . but again, self indulgent for me. A separate aroace Grace/PHM-only fic will be on the horizon in that case.

Simon doesn't think he'll make it, he survived and fought and killed and begged and on and on and on for 13 years. He won't make it this time, there is nothing he can do anymore. And maybe he can convince himself he's fine with that.
But Grace has learned he can't leave a problem unsolved, and Rocky has developed some intense emotions towards loneliness. So Simon's just gonna have to learn to live again :)
