More than a year after the defeat of Shroud, a new villain has officially entered the chat, and she's brought something truly heinous to the table. Z-Team's year of laid back success is at an end and the era of too many struggles to pick from has arrived. Suspicions of a mole in SDN, a dubious substance, both deadly and alluring for sale on the streets, corporate meddling threatening to tear the team apart, cabin fever induced by wood panels and popcorn ceilings and steel walls... The list goes on.
Forced into a close quarters lockdown amidst the growing crisis, Robert and Chad are no longer able to ignore the tension that's lingered between them. Unfortunately for everyone around them, they're also too maladjusted to address that tension like normal people. Investigating the new Big Bad in town is about to get weird.

Ryland Grace and Rocky succeeded. The beetles were on their way to Earth and they would return to Erid. Somewhere between Tau Ceti and 40 Eridani, they spot what looks like abandoned space stations, but neither humans nor Eridians ever made it out this far. Desperate for food, Grace and Rocky make the decision to check in on these space stations, see if they would offer help to some poor aliens.
Instead, they find a strange transmission from a bloody moon.
Meanwhile, Simon wakes up on the floor of the SM-13 after a brush with a planet sized Eye in the blood ocean. Lost far away from the COI and with no way to replenish his oxygen, he makes contact with someone new, someone determined to save him.
