The advantage of an early start seems to come with an unforeseen downside—while there’s few around to bother her, it also means she lacks a crowd to mask her presence. Loiterers are certainly common around the runners, but they’re the kind of people allowed to do that sort of thing. Maria is not.
Even so… this is meant to be a gift for Mr. Neuras. He deserves it of her to be brave.
Taking a deep breath, Maria clutches her pad of paper to her chest and begins the long trek across the plaza.

Summary
I’d locked eyes with Mensah, looking like that. My energy weapons had deployed, without my awareness or direction. My targeting systems had identified her and Bharadwaj, quite insistently, as direct and immediate threats.
Maybe this is just a temporary, dangerous, system glitch, and a hard restart will fix me. I’ll just restart, comb through my code, do some debugging, find the corrupted files or whatever, and then I won’t indiscriminately murder my most trusted humans.
I should know by now to always assume the worst.
In which SecUnit is having some survival threat…response errors. And some…’targeting its humans’ malfunctions. And some…blackouts when restarting. I’m sure it’s fine.

It's the perfect second chance to get to know them again, especially because Felix moved away and cut off contact before he transitioned. The only wrench in his plan is Sylvain Jose Gautier, who 1. seems to have cottoned on to the fact that there's something very familiar about their new cabinmate, and 2. had the gall to grow up extremely hot.

Kohane giggles, “An-chan, that just sounds like a cat cafe.”
An’s jaw drops. She squeals, taking both of Kohane’s hands into her own, “Kohane, you’re a genius! That’s what we’ve got to do! We need to make WEEKEND GARAGE into a cat cafe!”
After Ken sprains his ankle--again--An volunteers to run the cafe in her father's stead while he recovers. And look, it would have been weirder if she didn't turn the place into a cat cafe while she was at it.

“So you're here out of obligation,” Teddie's shadow says, cutting Naoto off. “Easy fix, then. After all, he belongs here. Don't need to save someone from their own home, right?”
“Like hell he does!” Yosuke bursts out, and the shadow immediately rests its gaze directly on him. The words he was so passionate about just a second ago die in his throat as the shadow stares.
It's silent for too long—too silent, Yosuke realises. The other dungeons had some kind of music playing, or some ambient sounds, like water running or machines whirring; this one has nothing, not even the murmur of shadows. It's a type of cloying silence that feels off; it doesn't feel as though there were no sounds to begin with—it feels as though all the sounds that were there have been muted, leaving only an unnatural silence in their place.
Finally, the shadow clicks its tongue. The sound is clean; there's no echo despite the place they’re in, only the hints of shadowy distortion. “Prove it,” it says finally, then takes a step back and disappears into darkness.
