Summary
Lando Norris has always been the fastest driver on the grid. Oscar Piastri has always been just behind him, in lap times, in results, in everything except the one thing that matters most: Lando's heart.
What Lando doesn't know is that none of it was luck. Not the teammate assignment. Not the years they've spent inseparable. Not even the way every person who ever threatened to come between them has quietly, mysteriously disappeared from his life. Oscar has been three steps ahead since the day they met, patient, methodical, utterly devoted, and willing to burn down anything standing in the way of keeping Lando his.
When an old friend resurfaces and threatens the careful world Oscar has built, the cracks start to show, and Lando begins pulling at threads he was never supposed to find. A locked room. A father who'll do anything to protect his son. A love story that was never as innocent as it looked.
This isn't a slow burn to something safe. This is obsession dressed up as devotion, control disguised as care, and a man who has never once, in his entire life, learned how to let go of the thing he loves most.

It’s 1:18am. Oscar knows he should put his phone down, he knows he should simply roll over and pretend he hadn’t even seen the text — instead his fingers fumble across the bright LED screen.
[logan: can I come up? can’t sleep]
Oscar tells himself that he’s too tired, that he’s sick of making space for Logan’s long limbs, that Logan’s early alarm will rob him of a few precious minutes of sleep. Oscar tells himself that he doesn’t want Logan there, that he didn’t spend the last five hours willing his phone to light up with Logan’s name. He replies again.

Summary
He hadn’t talked to Oscar in years. Not since half a year in F1 had gone by, and one was clearly excelling and the other was not. It wasn’t Logan's fault. He had tried, he really did, to maintain some sense of normalcy with Oscar, but the replies kept getting slower and slower until there wasn’t much to talk about in the first place.
