In the rest of those dreams, Sam plummets to earth, wingless, then breaks. He tells himself often that they’re only dreams, that Sam is capable and skilled far beyond any combat-abled civilian he’s ever known. He reminds himself each time Sam’s in a fight that the suit is more than sufficient protection, that every fiber of vibranium absorbs impact and directs it away from Sam. Away. That had been his first and foremost request to Ayo. Always away.
