The guy only sniffs and hitches his hands up on his hips, showing off a trimmer waist than his oversized rugby shirt suggested. “What’s your name again?”
“Rocky,” he offers, simple and easy. “You?”
“Grace,” the guy says. “Or Mr. Grace, if you’re a seventh grader within twenty yards of me.”
“Just Grace?”
“Just Rocky?”
Rocky arches a brow and steps inside the copy room, which seems to charge up the air despite the preexisting smell of hot paper and toner. “Look, Mr. Grace,” he says, trying to keep his posture open and casual even though Grace is nearly a hand taller than him. “I didn’t mean to roll up like gangbusters on your copy room racketeering gig, I was just trying to learn the lay of the land and get my sheets prepped for the kids. But I’ll mosey on down to the math department and put my formal order in if need be.”
Grace rolls his jaw like he’s got a marble in his mouth, and now that they’re closer Rocky can make out the bright blue of his eyes and the gold in his lashes. Damn, he’s a good looking son of a bitch, if only he didn’t have a stick jammed so far up his pert little—

There are still four viable sperm samples in the Hail Mary’s deep freeze storage. Ryland knows this because he’s asked Mary about it twice since the day Jude was born. Once, when she was barely six months old, which unnerved him so badly that he slammed the laptop shut before Mary could finish telling him about the samples.
