Summary
Doctor Robby was supposed to be just another human. But this human is what no other human has ever been—immune to Vlad’s vampire powers.
Vlad shouldn’t become so obsessed with figuring him out. Too late.
A stupid mistake leaves him stripped of the guise of Dennis Whitaker. Unintentionally joining Robby on his sabbatical road trip leaves him learning more about humans, and Robby, than he ever imagined, and himself too.
Once Robby gets over the shock of learning that charming, earnest Dennis Whitaker is actually Vlad Dracula, a young vampire with too much to prove, he realizes there never was much difference between the two. With a vampire stowaway on his road trip, Robby starts to think that perhaps it’s worth it to come back from his sabbatical… if only to keep his vampire from spiraling. -

Dennis looks up from his phone, "Huh?"
Robby realizes that he sort of just pulled that question out of thin air. That the last time they discussed it was hours and hours ago. But he's bored. And he's drunk. And he's curious. "The fuckin' no nut thing."
It's hard to tell in the dim park lights, but he thinks Whitaker is turning a very pretty shade of pink.
"Oh! Uh… is that really an appropriate thing to discuss with my boss?"
Dennis and Robby make a bet.

Dennis was frozen in the doorway, he was surprised he’d managed to avoid getting found out for this long. It was bound to happen, someone from his past was bound to come into the pitt at some point, he just thought he’d get away with it for longer. Couldn’t even make it through his rotation.
“Whitaker?” Robby frowned at him when he realised he wasn’t following him into the room.
“Yep, yep. Coming.” He nodded and awkwardly smiled.

“Whitaker,” he says, tilting his head up toward the empty spot in front of Dennis. “Feelin’ sentimental?” He asks, amusedly.
Dennis flushes as a nervous grin plasters its way on his face. He laughs all wobbly like before uncrossing his arms to shove his hands in his pockets. “Oh, no, uh— just… thinking is all.” He says, shrugging. And humiliatingly, as if on cue, his stomach makes the loudest sound he’s ever heard it produce.
They stare at each other in silence for a long moment. Robby’s brows drawn up in surprise and Dennis’s face scrunched in embarrassment. He meekly pats his stomach and clears his throat.
“I.. forgot to bring lunch, actually.” Dennis says, laughing softly. The silence is killing him. Robby hums, biting back a very obvious smile. At least someone is finding joy in his terrible situation.. And Robby’s bad mood hasn’t seeped into their interaction. Robby just smiles, shaking his head in delight and setting his mug down. He reaches over to swing open the fridge.
“Mm, bad practice kid. You’re gonna have to eat more if you’re gonna keep those muscles.”

Dennis needs a lot, though he’d never ask for it. Robby likes to give. Especially to his favorite intern.
